Getting Started with Rkive

AI content automation, editing, scheduling, and social analytics. From zero to shipping in one sitting.

Meet Rkive. You bring real footage and taste; Rkive assembles posts, adapts them per platform, times them for reach, and shows what to do next. This step-by-step guide covers first-run setup and the weekly rhythm that compounds results.

1) Connect Your Social Accounts (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, Threads - YouTube and X coming soon)

Why first: your feed and analytics wake up the moment accounts are linked.

Do this

  1. Settings → Strategy → Add account.
  • Instagram Business/Creator (must be linked to a Facebook Page)
  • Facebook Page
  • LinkedIn Personal Profile or Company Page (personal profiles work for posting but have limited analytics)
  • TikTok account
  • Threads account
  1. Confirm permissions so Rkive can fetch media/insights and publish (only when you approve).

New workspaces look quiet until a few posts exist. That’s normal. You’ll fill it in the next steps.

2) Create Your Content Strategy with AI (No Templates Needed)

Your strategy tells the AI what to make, how it should feel, and why.

How

  • Settings → Strategy → Chatbot. Describe your brand in plain language:
  • “I’m an entrepreneur sharing startup tips + behind-the-scenes. I keep the tone smart, concise, slightly cheeky. I want to get reach on TikTok and thought leadership on LinkedIn.”
  • The chatbot with back-and-forth with you until you nail the strategy. Then it will drafts account guidelines, post types, tone rules, and platform notes. It populates the strategy screen on its own, so you don’t have to copy and paste. Edit anything and Save.

Add your flavor

  • Assets: logos, stickers, lower-thirds, palette… things that are used during editing.
  • References: 3–10 example posts you love (pacing, subtitle style, overlays, caption voice).

Rkive draws inspiration from these so your posts will resemble them.

3) Turn On Background Sync (So Drafts Start Appearing)

Settings → Sync

Choose your media source (camera roll for now -cloud folder coming soon) and set sync window (how far back rkive syncs). Frequency is automatically as high as possible to ensure your files are safe and turned into posts asap. Head back to Feed.

A few moments later… you’ll see: “A fresh batch of posts is ready.”

If you don’t want to enable background sync, you can still go to feed and pull to refresh anytime you want Rkive to fetch and process the last 20 pics and videos in your camera roll.

4) Review AI-Generated Drafts in the Feed

You’ll see reels, carousels, and image posts already adapted per platform. Rkive can assemble and edit carousels, reels and other formats out of multiple pictures and videos. If you did a good job in strategy, you should see exactly the kind of post you like. Rkive edits currently cover cropping, clipping, eq adjustments, titles and subtitles, sound enhancement, upscaling, overlays and some graphic elements. More editing capabilities such as audio, transitions, lighting effects and stock images and clips, are coming soon. Rkive also crafts infographics, either from scratch or using your images, make sure to specify that in your strategy if its a post type you’re interested in.

  • Double-tap a post to schedule/unschedule.
  • Tap ⋯ for Edit, Download or Delete.
  • Approve what’s 80% right; save perfection time for your hero posts.

Fast checklist

  • Schedule 2–3 obvious wins.
  • Unschedule anything off-brand. Rkive learns your preferences as you go.
  • Send near-misses to the editor (next section).

5) Edit with Natural-Language Prompts (Examples Included)

Open a post → Edit. Type the change; we rebuild cuts, overlays, subtitles, and captions accordingly.

Prompt ideas

  • “ALL CAPS subtitles, snappier pacing, Gen-Z caption.”
  • “Make a LinkedIn version: tighter intro, leadership tone.”
  • “Convert to Instagram carousel: first slide a short ambient cut; add these pics; you order them to feel editorial. Minimal text.”
  • “Same story for YouTube Short; keep hook <2s; CTA to full tutorial.”

Attach extra clips/images if needed and hit Send.

A few moments later… “Your post is ready.”

If it’s a winner, Schedule directly from the editor by double tapping or selecting a specific time.

6) Schedule & Manage Your Calendar (Day, Week, Month)

  • Calendar: visual queue of everything scheduled. Drag to reschedule.
  • Gallery: master library (drafts, scheduled, archived).
  • Tap ⋯ on any post for Edit, Download or Delete.

Tip: Keep a steady base cadence (e.g., 3 posts/week) and slot hero posts into your best hours (see next section).

7) Measure What Matters in Rkive Analytics (And Decide What to Do Next)

Rkive shows six signals that actually steer content, and ties them to post type, topic, and timing so you know what to repeat.

  • Top Cards: Posts · Engagements · Engagement Rate · Reach — quick health check.
  • Top Posts: ranked winners. Repeat the same post type + topic within 3–7 days.
  • Accounts: per-handle momentum in terms of following (7/30/90d). Route conversion-aiming posts to the lane that’s moving.
  • Formats: Image / Carousel / Video / Text / Status split. Use it to tilt your sprint, not to go mono-format.
  • Post Types: your custom categories with tabs for Reach / Views / Likes / Comments / Shares / Saves. Pick the lever you need to focus on.
  • Metrics Radar: a videogame-like graph for a quick read of imbalances (e.g., reach heavy, shares light). Patch the gap with 1–2 targeted posts.
  • Peak Hours: weekday clocks based on your historical outcomes (not generic audience-online lists). Double down on winning slots; switch hours that look thin.
  • Impact: which account is your current “pit boss” (engagement vs reach combined). Send the viral bets there.
  • Topics: AI-tagged themes (7/30/90d). Bench underperforming ones.

Set a weekly goal by tapping on any mini stat card (followers, posts, engagement). The UI shows your progress toward it.

8) Let the Chatbot & Autopilot Do the Busy Work

Think of the chatbot as your strategist who also clicks the buttons.

Prompts you’ll actually use

  • “Which post type + topic had the highest engagement rate last 30d?”
  • “Why is TikTok reach up but followers flat? Suggest one experiment.”

Typical reply: an explanation you can skim + concrete actions to take.

9) Collaborate & Manage Your Plan

  • Organizations → Invite: shared strategy, assets and posts.
  • Assign roles with different permission levels.
  • Plans/Subscription: start on trial; upgrade when you need more sources, deeper analytics, automations, and seats. Nothing posts without approval, ever.

10) Quick Troubleshooting

  • Analytics empty? You need connected accounts with a few previous posts (even if they weren’t made with Rkive).
  • Instagram won’t connect? Must be Business/Creator linked to a Facebook Page.
  • LinkedIn analytics missing? Connect a Company Page, LinkedIn Personal Profiles work for posting but not for analytics (that’s coming soon).
  • No drafts? Check Sync and Strategy.
  • Nervous about publishing? Double-tap to unschedule anytime; nothing auto-posts without your say-so.

11) The 15-Minute Weekly Workflow

  1. Feed: approve obvious wins; send 1–2 near-misses to Edit.
  2. Set goals (reach / saves / shares).
  3. Post Types: identify your winners and fix your losers.
  4. Chatbot: “Reccomend a 4-post sprint for [goal].”
  5. Calendar: glance and tweak.
  6. Analytics (loop in boss/client/sponsor): what happened, why, what’s next.

12) FAQ (Short and Useful)

  • Does Rkive generate posts from thin air? It edits from your real media. You can prompt structure and attach assets; authenticity first.
  • Is this just resizing? No, it re-edits per platform (cuts, crops, overlays, subtitles, caption voice, pacing).
  • Will it ever post without me? No. You always have to double-tap to schedule.
  • What about security? Encrypted in transit & at rest; scoped access; your media isn’t dumped into public training sets.

Your next three clicks

  1. Connect Instagram/TikTok/Threads/LinkedIn/Facebook.
  2. Chatbot → “Write my strategy for [niche], tone [x], goals [y].” Save.
  3. Turn on Sync, then approve 3 drafts and double-tap to schedule.

That’s it. You’ve gone from empty feed to an automated, analytics-guided content engine with your taste in charge.
